I did some research and found keywords to target which either have high traffic and a medium level of competition (a few million) or a medium level of traffic and low competition (a few hundred thousand). On finding these keywords it is relatively easy to get into the top page on Google or other search engines after a few months at most due to the relatively large number of sites that I own that can link to it and finding relevant back links from other sites.
